You don’t have to eat alone tonight.

Say where you are going next. See who else is there that week. Have dinner with one of them.

Nobody tells you how lonely business travel gets.

Four nights a month in a city where you know nobody. A hotel bar you do not want to sit at on your own. Room service and a laptop, again. The trip is fine. The evenings are the problem.

Three steps between landing and knowing someone in town.

  1. 01 Declare

    Say where you are going

Dates, city, nothing else. Ten seconds, and the only thing the rest of RAVL needs.

  2. 02 Match

    See who else is there

Members whose trips overlap yours, that week, in that city.

  3. 03 Meet

Make a plan for one evening

    One message, one dinner.

  1. Away from home
  2. Declare the trip
  3. See who is there
  4. One message
  5. Dinner

Careful about who is here, so you don’t have to be.

Saying yes to dinner with someone you have not met should feel ordinary. Four things happen quietly in the background so that it can.

  • Everyone joined on purpose

Nobody stumbles in. RAVL is not somewhere you end up.

  • A person reads every profile

Not an algorithm, and not after the fact — before that account can message anyone.

  • Your phone does the watching

Warnings happen on your device before an abusive message is sent. Nothing is read anywhere else.

  • One tap and it stops

Blocking holds everywhere, not just in the conversation you were in. Reporting is one tap, and it reaches a person.

How safety works at RAVL

Networking, but not as you think of it.

Members are not here for a room full of lanyards. They are here for one good conversation with someone worth meeting — over dinner, on a walk, in the bar downstairs.

Events are how a lot of them start. A pub meetup in Amsterdam, a supper in Singapore, occasionally something a good deal grander. You turn up, you meet a few people, and the ones you get on with you message the next time you are both in the same city. The event is the introduction. The conversation after it is the point.
